CUBA, FIDEL: US, AFRICAN STUDENTS

Not only has Michael Moore helped bring the truth about Cuba’s superior health care system out of the shadows, but now people are beginning to learn about Cuba’s Latin American School of Medicine and that US students are among its graduates. At the end of the post is a CBS story about a US [...]

HAITI TO GUINEA

Haitians often say that when they die they want to be returned home to Guinea (or Ginen) referring to the Gulf of Guinea on Africa’s West Coast where many Africans were taken as slaves and Haitians are thought to be among their descendants. Yet, even in death, a Haitians’ return to West Africa may [...]

CHAVEZ, THE PRIEST, AND THE EX-PRIEST

I was thinking what a struggle it is for Hugo Chavez to have to continuously be the target of US destabilization schemes. I am reminded of the child’s game where you use a wooden mallet to hit a protruding wooden stake so that it disappears only to have another wooden stake pop up in [...]

HAITI: I’ll Take “Bandits” Over “Ghosts” Any Day

NOTE: Since many of you may not read through to the end of this post, I am copying the last paragraph up front here so that you don’t miss the opportunity to go to filmmaker, Kevin Pina’s, website where you can get information about his new, groundbreaking film, “Haiti: We Must Kill the [...]

DATELINE HAITI: DR. HARPER, I PRESUME? SO THE CANADIAN POODLE IS NOW A DOCTOR?

Say What??
“This is a short visit, a doctor’s visit,” Preval said of Harper’s one-day tour. “You can be sure your patient is no sicker, but remains fragile. Our country is recuperating, but is still weak, very weak.”
So Harper is going to doctor Cite Soleil? Since his country was an integral part of [...]

IS CANADA’S HARPER THE US’ POODLE IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN?

Everything about Canadian Prime Minister Harper’s trip to Latin America/Caribbean feels creepy. It’s way too reminiscent of Marlon Brando, playing the much hated diplomat in the film, “The Ugly American,” oozing all over the southern half of the Western Hemisphere. Looking to strike a wicked free trade deal, discussing plans for sinking [...]
